Intercultural Full Immersion
In recent years intercultural education has become a major topic of discussion among educators. The two major international organizations concerned with societal questions, the United Nations (UN) and the Council of Europe, have developed a vision of societal development based on human rights, democracy and the rule of law which serves as a guiding light for intercultural education.
At SIS we strongly believe that any intercultural encounter (either face to face or through visual media such as television, magazines, films, and internet) is a precious source of intercultural learning. This pedagogical view led SIS faculty to create the EUFICCS approach and methodology with the ultimate goal to enhance students’ intercultural immersion and understanding.
