FRANCOPHONE Program Coordinator
Originally from Siena, Italy, Irene developed a strong passion for languages and cultural diversity, mastering English, German, French, and Spanish during her studies at “Liceo Linguistico Monna Agnese.” This passion led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Human and Social Sciences at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), where she deepened her understanding of social dynamics and intercultural relations.
While studying, in 2016 Irene began collaborating with SIS using her cultural insights on Belgium to assist in organizing and guiding student trips to Brussels and introducing students to the vibrant heart of Europe and the complexities of the European institutions. As SIS expanded its offerings in 2017 to include a Multi-Destination Program between Siena and Brussels, Irene played a key role in its development helping students navigate their adventures in Belgium.
After earning a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management in 2021, Irene continued to grow her expertise by completing a “Certificat Interuniversitaire en Migrations, Diversité Ethnique et Relations Interculturelles” in 2024. Her dedication to cultural diversity and student support led to her role as Francophone Program Coordinator in 2022, overseeing SIS programs in both Brussels and Yaoundé. These days, she’s working in Brussels to make sure SIS students feel right at home, coordinating host families, service learning, and activities that immerse them fully in the local culture.
